Getting started
What do I need to start?
A TikTok account and a browser. There is nothing to install, and Studio works on a phone as well as a desktop.
Does Mindframe Studio need my TikTok password?
No, and it never sees it. Authorisation happens on TikTok's own consent screen; TikTok gives Studio a limited token afterwards.
Can I use it with more than one TikTok account?
One account is connected at a time. Disconnect the current one from the Studio screen and connect another.
Permissions and privacy
Which permissions does it ask for, and why?
Three: user.info.basic to show which account you are connected as,
video.upload to place a video in your drafts, and
video.publish to publish when you choose to. Nothing else is
requested. Details here.
Can it read my videos, followers or messages?
No. Those permissions are not requested and could not be used if they were granted. Studio never reads anyone's content.
How do I revoke access?
Press Disconnect in Studio, or open the TikTok app and remove Mindframe Studio under Security and permissions. Either way access ends immediately and the stored token is deleted.
What data is kept?
The access token for your connection, and the videos you create until you remove them. See the Privacy Policy.
Making videos
How long does one video take?
A few minutes. Narration is generated, artwork is fetched and the video is encoded at full 1080×1920 resolution, which is the slow part.
Can I use my own footage instead?
Yes. Upload an MP4 or MOV in Studio and it appears alongside generated videos, with the same review and publishing flow.
Can I edit the script or the caption?
The caption is fully editable before publishing. The script is generated per video; if you want different wording, generate again with a more specific topic.
Where do the images come from? Am I allowed to publish them?
From open museum collections — the Met, the Art Institute of Chicago, Cleveland, Openverse and Wikimedia Commons — filtered to public-domain and CC0 material only. There is a guide on this.
Is the music licensed?
It is composed for each video rather than licensed, so there is no third-party recording in your video and nothing to clear.
Publishing
Will it post without me?
No. Every publish requires you to press the button. There is no scheduling and no background posting.
Why can I only choose "Only me" for the audience?
Applications that are still under review by TikTok can post only privately. Once review is complete the full set of audience options your account permits becomes available.
What is the difference between publishing and sending to drafts?
Publishing puts the video on your account with the settings you chose. Drafts put it in the TikTok app so you can add effects, sounds and text with TikTok's own editor before posting. More here.
My video says it is still processing. Is something wrong?
Usually not — TikTok processes a video after the upload finishes, and larger files take longer. Studio keeps checking and tells you when it is genuinely live. If it fails, the reason TikTok gave is shown.
Can I delete a video after publishing it?
Yes, from the TikTok app like any other post. Studio cannot delete posts on your behalf; it has no permission to do so.
Billing
What does it cost?
Nothing while it is in beta, and no card is required. See Pricing.
